The Rub Seratocast

SeratoCast Mix 6 – The Rub by Serato on Mixcloud

Our friends at Serato asked us to rock volume 6 of their new Seratocast series. We kept it in the vein of our monthly Rub Radio mix, with new music from every corner of our crates, plus we debuted our new single, which comes out in August. Given all the twists and turns, we think it flows remarkably well. Big shout to Prince Rakeem for providing the intro material.

Chances With Wolves

I’ve wanted to do a guest set on Chances With Wolves for the longest time, and finally thought up a good theme – music about God. Turns out they’d been thinking of a doing a show with a “Higher Power” theme, so it was kismet. Digging for an hour of good music which fits both the show and the theme gave me a newfound respect for how much work goes into doing a show every week and never repeating a record… it’s astonishing. The music we played is mostly old, soulful, often weird and obscure, and if that’s your bag, be sure to listen to their show every week.

PS: If you haven’t already, listen to episode 20 of my podcast, Small Talk with guests Chances with Wolves and learn more about the dudes behind this terrific show.

Play 8: DJ Ayres’ “Sunshine At Midnight” Block Party Mix by Malibu Play on Mixcloud

This mix is designed to take you into the Spring – still a bit chilly in places, but with rays of sunlight peaking through. Woz – Early Morning Champagne ft. Joel Compass (Adelaide Remix + OG)
Shadow Child – Friday
Anna Lunoe – Breathe
Joe Goddard – Gabriel feat. Valentina (Seiji Remix)
Toyboy & Robin – Jaded
Tatiana Owens ft. DJ Ayres – Beautiful People (Treasure Fingers Remix)
Canblaster ft. Para One – Presents
Kendrick Lamar – Swimming Pools (Four Color Zack Remix)
Rihanna – Pour It Up (RL Grime Remix)
Miguel – Do You (Cashmere Cat Remix)
Keys N Krates – I Just Can’t Deny
Diplo – Revolution ft. Faustix, Imanos & Kai 1
Rustie – After Light
Justin Timberlake – My Love (Instrumental)
B.O.B. ft. Wes Fif – Haterz Everywhere (Accapella)
Kastle ft. Jmsn – Make You Stay (Andrea Remix)
